SHUN CLASSIC SERIES
4" Paring Knife #DM0700
-------------------------------------
The Shun Classic Paring knife is a kitchen essential. In a way, you can think of it as the mini version of the Chef's knife because, like the Chef's knife, the Paring knife is quite versatile. Its compact size makes it ideal for peeling, coring, trimming, decorating, and other detail work. This slightly larger version lets you take on larger foods quickly and easily. Generally, you'll use this knife in your hand rather than against a cutting board, though paring knives can be used successfully for chopping small foods, such as garlic cloves.
- Dishwasher safe
- NSF approved

The "D" shape rests precisely in the curve of the fingers as they curl around the handle. The asymmetrical bolster is ground out more on the right side to provide proper finger placement and an easy, secure grip. The knives balance perfectly, with the pivot point just ahead of where the handle sweeps out of the blade. Shun Classics may be special ordered for left-handed users--with the asymmetrical bolster ground out on the left side for ideal finger placement.

The black PakkaWood(R) handles provide the beauty of genuine wood, but--since the wood is impregnated with a waterproof resin--the handles are as durable as plastic and dishwasher safe, too.

ABOUT SHUN CLASSIC:
Shun Classic's tasteful and contemporary designs feature beautiful Damascus-clad blades and D-shaped ebony PakkaWood0 handles. Behind the knives' beauty is function: razor-sharp blades offering the most extreme performance possible. Shun's VG10 steel, known for its incredible edge retention, is clad with Damascus stainless steel, then bead-blasted, revealing the woodgrain pattern of the steel that allows the blade to slide easily through food. The result is knives that are sharp, durable, and corrosion resistant, as well as beautiful to behold. Shun Classic also offers the widest assortment of both traditional blade shapes and cutting edge designs, so you can always find the right knife for the task.
